Karin Dovel is a Sydney based ceramic artist. Originally from Chicago, she moved to Australia in 2010, and is now an Australian citizen.
Interested in drawing and sculpting, she studied figure drawing at the Art Institute of Chicago, then went on to university to major in ceramics. She received her Bachelor's in Fine Arts from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana in 1994.
Using coil-building, slipcasting, and other hand-building techniques, she creates both functional and sculptural pieces.
When not working at her home studio in Balmain, she can be found exploring Sydney with her trusty sidekick, Murray the dingo dog.
Shipping
Upon payment, items will be shipped 1-3 working days via Australia Post. All orders are shipped with "Pack & Track" so the package can be tracked (as available in destination country).
Insurance can be purchased, but does not come standard. Please let me know if it is required.
Most international orders should arrive within 14 working days, but please allow three weeks in case of a delay. Buyers are responsible for any taxes or customs fees incurred by your country.
Refunds & Exchanges
As these are handmade, there will be slight variations in shape, artwork and glaze. You may find slight imperfections, and marks of the making process. These contribute the the uniqueness and character of each individual piece.
They've been photographed in natural light to give an accurate representation. However, if you are unhappy with your purchase, please let me know. A refund of the purchase price will be made if the item is returned to me unused and undamaged within 14 days. Shipping costs cannot be refunded.
All items are very carefully wrapped and packed for safe shipping. If anything arrives broken or damaged, please take a photo of it and the box and contact me immediately.
